My Nostalgic Car Kahani
Watching Atif Aslam’s Total Parco ad where he recounts his
Car Kahani was a breath of fresh air. This might be because the ad was shot in
incredibly scenic locations with amazing cinematography and a great story
telling aspect to it.
You can watch the ad here:
Anyway, the ad was fairly nostalgic as well with its late
90s and early 2000s feels. And it reminded me of my own favorite car kahani
from that time. No I did not go on dates considering I was 5 at the time. But
it's a pretty fun story nonetheless.
As a child my sister and I would be fascinated with stop
lights, not really grasping the logic behind them. To us it was just a thing
people did in unison to annoy drivers behind them. So whenever our car was in
the first line at the stop light, we would turn back in our seats to look out
of the back window and sing a song we made up with consisted of just one line
‘Hum ne traffic kar di!’. And there was a little dance involved. Maybe. I am not at liberty to say. But
mostly we made faces at the drivers behind us, thinking ‘HAH! We made you stop
for no reason at all and you cannot move because of us’. Somehow this was just
amazing to us that we had the power to stop hundreds of cars.
Now we have grown up and are familiar with the concept of traffic signals. But I will never forget the ‘Hum ne traffic kar di’ days since
its one of those innocent childhood memories you keep close to your heart
because they remind you to appreciate the little things in life like you did
when you were younger.
So if you have a similar story you would like to share. Visit
Total Parco’s Facebook page to enter the competition.
And maybe you can win and meet Atif Aslam and swap some car
kahanis with him too?
Very nice post...
